The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center Atlantic (SPAWARSYSCEN Atlantic) issued a Request for Information (RFI) seeking details on commercial off-the-shelf man-portable cellular systems designed to provide multi-user communication in areas lacking cellular connectivity due to remoteness or service outages. This RFI targets systems intended primarily for the emergency responder community and is part of the Department of Homeland Security’s System Assessment and Validation for Emergency Responders (SAVER) Program, which evaluates and validates commercial equipment to support first responders. Vendors are asked to submit company details, system names, and contacts without including proprietary information, as submissions will be publicly available and may be used in SAVER program documentation. Submissions are required using a specific form available via SSC Atlantic’s e-commerce website and must be received by February 14, 2014. The information gathered will inform future equipment assessments and likely influence selection criteria based on responder input. Although this RFI does not constitute a solicitation or contract award and no payment will be made, vendors may be contacted later for more detailed information if their products are considered for SAVER evaluations. Technical support and submission inquiries have designated contacts, and vendors are advised to avoid direct follow-up requests through the Federal Business Opportunities agency. This effort facilitates planning and research toward enhancing communication solutions for emergency response scenarios.
