Full Description

The project will be completed in Minneapolis, MN at the Processing & Distribution Center (P&DC), 100 South 1st Street, and as well at the Old Vehicle Maintenance Facility (VMF) located next door at 200 South 1st Street. The Scope of Work includes but is not limited to: 1) Roof Replacement - replacement of the existing roofing on the main building with a new built-up roofing system; 2) Stone Masonry Tuckpointing � tuckpointing and joint restoration of all stone masonry areas; 3) Stone masonry removal, resetting and/or re-anchoring � individual, stone masonry blocks and/or sections as identified on/in the contract documents throughout the main facility and neighboring �Old VMF; 4) Stone masonry cleaning � all exposed stone masonry areas; 5) Miscellaneous flashings and expansion/control joint restoration and/or replacement � associated work as identified; 6) Re-caulking of all windows, door frames and other wall penetrations; 7) Scheduling, phasing plan, and safety & protection plan � due upon proposal submission along with base price proposal and unit pricing. These submissions must be project specific, and conform (in part) to the description included on drawing sheet A1.1 under �project phasing and staging notes�. Estimated construction cost range is between $2.5 and $4.5 million. The performance time is 365 calendar days after the notice to proceed is issued. A MANDATORY Preproposal Conference will be conducted February 12, 2009 at 8:00 a.m. at the P&DC (Room 125) � 100 South 1st Street, Minneapolis, MN. THIS SOLICITATION IS OPEN TO GENERAL CONTRACTORS WHO MEET THE FOLLOWING MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: (1) Company must have a minimum of five years experience; 2) Company must have completed three comparable projects within the past five years; and 3) Company must be capable of obtaining performance and payment bonds for 100% of the contract price for this project. Award will be made under this solicitation to the qualified offeror who provides the best value to the Postal Service.
