MECHANICAL REPAIRS TO MUNICIPAL FIRE APPARATUS

The City of Camden is soliciting bids for mechanical repairs to municipal fire apparatus for a one-year term with a second-year option. The scope of work is divided into five categories, including Seagrave, Pierce, KME, and Ferrara apparatus, and requires all services to meet or exceed NFPA 1911 standards and manufacturer recommendations. Repairs may be performed at the apparatus location, the contractor's facility, the DPW Fleet Garage, or any of the six city firehouses. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder based on a composite bid price consisting of hourly labor rates and a parts markup, which is capped at 18 percent. Required submission documents include a digital bid bond of 10 percent of the total bid price (capped at 20,000 dollars), a consent of surety for performance and payment bonds, and various certifications regarding non-debarment, non-collusion, and affirmative action. The successful contractor must comply with the New Jersey Prevailing Wage Act and provide certified payroll records within 10 days of wage payment. Invoicing must be submitted to the Bureau of Fleet Management within five business days of service completion and must include detailed vehicle information, mechanic names, and warranty expiration periods. In the event of a public emergency, the City may extend the contract terms for up to six months.
