Medical Physicist

The County of San Mateo, through the San Mateo Medical Center (SMMC), is soliciting proposals for a Medical Physicist to provide equipment testing and reporting for radiation-producing machines. The scope of work covers the SMMC main campus and clinics, the San Mateo County Correctional facility, and the Navigation Center. Key responsibilities include performing ACR accreditation testing for CT and Mammography, supporting new equipment installations, providing radiation safety training to employees, and consulting on design shielding, dose estimates, and acceptance testing. The selected provider must be board-certified in diagnostic medical physics with hospital and dental experience, and must deliver written equipment performance reports within 15 days of a survey. Cyber liability insurance is required for any work involving access to County data.
