Method Community Park Improvements Project

The Method Community Park Improvements Project involves comprehensive exterior and interior renovations to enhance accessibility, functionality, and preservation of historic elements at the Pioneers Building. The exterior restoration focuses on the building envelope with a new accessible front entrance that retains the original historic stoop, while interior updates include new finishes, acoustic improvements in the multi-purpose room, and updated exhibit content for the history room. Building systems such as electrical, mechanical, IT, AV, fire alarm, security, and plumbing will be modernized to support the building’s programmed spaces. An alternate design allows for raised access flooring in the multi-purpose room to eliminate the need for interior ramps and enable efficient underfloor systems distribution. Both base bid and alternate configurations are provided for the history room and catering kitchen, ensuring flexibility in implementation. The project ensures full ADA compliance upon completion. Sitework improvements include the addition of a new playground and splash pad, along with reconfiguration of the parking lot, installation of new lighting, irrigation, stormwater treatment systems, and utility upgrades. The project is being administered by the City of Raleigh under solicitation number 274-FY2027-CM-P03, with bids due by September 2, 2026. Primary point of contact is Patrick Barbour, and the work will be performed in North Carolina. The solicitation falls under a state and local government procurement framework with no set-aside designation, aiming to deliver enhanced community amenities while respecting the building’s historic character.
