MINUTEMAN III SYSTEMS PROGRAM OFFICE ECS Replacement program

The program aims to develop, build, and test a materiel solution for the Engineering and Manufacturing Development phase to replace aging environmental control systems supporting 45 Missile Alert Facilities, 450 Launch Facilities, three wings, three Wing Trainers, the Strategic Missile Integration Complex, and facilities at Vandenberg Space Force Base. Critical technical requirements include specialized cooling for the Missile Guidance Set via the Guidance and Control Chiller system and mitigation of operational issues like filtering, clogging, and airflow failures. Vendors must demonstrate experience with Air Force Systems Engineering and Technical processes and the Risk Management Framework to achieve an Authorization to Operate for a Department of War weapon system. A comprehensive obsolescence management and technology insertion strategy is required, detailing how the contractor will ensure hardware, software, and subcomponents maintain maximum remaining service life and integrate emerging technologies before final delivery.
