Mission Bay Ferry Landing and Water Taxi Landing

The Mission Bay Ferry Landing and Water Taxi Landing project involves the construction of a single float, dual berth ferry landing and a water taxi landing along the Port of San Francisco's Southern Waterfront. The scope of work includes the installation of supporting infrastructure such as ramps, piers, gangways, and platforms. The project is located in the Mission Bay neighborhood near the intersection of Terry A. Francois Boulevard and 16th Street, adjacent to Agua Vista Park and the planned Bayfront Park. This project is governed by the California Endangered Species Act, with the California Department of Fish and Wildlife issuing Incidental Take Permit No. 2081-2018-062-07. A recent minor amendment extends the permit expiration date to November 30, 2028. Environmental considerations are critical, as the project will permanently remove 0.24 acres of habitat and result in hydroacoustic impacts and incidental take of threatened Longfin smelt and Central Valley Spring-run Chinook salmon, as well as endangered Sacramento River Winter-run Chinook salmon. The San Francisco Planning Department serves as the lead agency for this effort.
