The Department of Defense issued a modification to a previous notice seeking information for the availability of a Tactical Ballistic Missile (TBM) training target capable of realistically representing current and future TBM threats, designated generically as TBM A, B, C, and D. While the government cannot provide specific threat requirements or specifications, it is emphasizing that the target and associated support services should not exceed a cost per firing of $40,000. The intended use involves conducting between 15 and 25 flights annually. Interested parties are requested to submit statements of interest electronically or via datafax to the designated contact without providing cost or pricing data. This Request for Information clarifies that it does not constitute a commitment by the government to award a contract or pay for any information provided. Submissions made in response will not be considered offers capable of creating binding contracts. The notice is primarily for market research and to gauge industry capability for supplying suitable TBM training targets under the outlined cost constraints and operational requirements. The contracting activity is based out of Redstone Arsenal, Alabama, under the Department of Defense.
