Modified Gaming Consoles for CCHCS

The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, through California Correctional Health Care Services, is soliciting bids for the procurement of modified gaming systems, games, and accessories for mental health recreational therapy groups at Folsom State Prison. The primary requirement is the delivery of hardware, specifically Nintendo Switch consoles, that has been modified to remove all Wi-Fi and networking capabilities, including the disabling of physical network and phone connections and the removal of game cartridge readers. To ensure security and functionality, MicroSD cards must be sealed into the consoles using epoxy, while Bluetooth must remain operational for wireless controllers. The contractor is also responsible for preloading games and creating new Nintendo accounts for each system. The award will be determined using a Best Value methodology, with a heavy emphasis on cost, which accounts for 90 points of the total score. Additional points are available for California Certified Small Businesses and Disabled Veteran Business Enterprises. Deliveries must be completed within 30 days after receipt of order, and the contractor must provide a minimum 12-month warranty mirroring the manufacturer's warranty. All submissions must include specific certifications, such as the Bidder’s Declaration and Postconsumer Recycled-Content Certification, and must disclose any use of generative AI. Payments will be processed in accordance with the State of California’s Prompt Payment Act.
