The U.S. Department of Agriculture Forest Service is conducting a Sources Sought and Request for Information to identify qualified veterinary service providers for the Double Devil Wild Horse and Burro Corrals, located near Alturas, California. The primary objective is to determine if there are offerors capable of meeting the specific requirement to provide veterinary services within a one-hour timeframe as outlined in the Performance Work Statement. This is a market research effort for a total small business set-aside under NAICS code 541940, and the government does not intend to award a contract based solely on this RFI. The scope of work involves providing veterinary care for animals brought from federal lands for short-term holding, with a proposed period of performance of 365 days after receipt of order. Key technical requirements include the ability to perform euthanasia without the use of barbiturates, providing bio-security recommendations for infectious diseases such as Rabies and West Nile, and managing the disposal of all sharps and containers. Interested firms must submit a response of no more than ten pages in Times New Roman 12-point font by November 6, 2026, detailing their technical capabilities, past performance, and business size status to Kari Hughes.
