Mojave River Emergency Activities El Nino 2026-2027

The Mojave River Emergency Activities El Nino 2026-2027 project is a forecast initiative by San Bernardino County in California to prepare for a predicted strong El Nino event during the 2026-2027 fall and winter seasons. The project aims to mitigate risks associated with the river's history of emergency flooding, levee breaches, bridge embankment scour, and sediment deposition to ensure public safety and protect both private and public infrastructure. Authorized emergency activities include the removal of accumulated debris and sediment, as well as the repair of access roads, levees, and eroded side slopes. Additionally, the project covers the repair of appurtenant flood control structures. Primary points of contact for this effort are Arlene B.
