Description: This service project consists of road decommissioning by recontouring and decompacting on the Red River Ranger District. Work includes drainage maintenance, road obliteration, culvert removal, seeding and hand straw mulching and miscellaneous related work. Approximately 17 miles of old road and skid trails will be treated. From Grangeville, Idaho follow County Road #17, Mount Idaho Grade, 10 miles to the junction with State Highway 14. Follow Hwy 14 for approximately 37 miles to the junction with road #1858. Follow the 1858 for 6.01 miles to the junction with Road 1826. Roads to be obliterated are off of the 1826 and 1832 system. The project is expected to begin approximately June 15, 2009 and be completed by October 31, 2009. This is a presolicitation notice, the solicitation package will be available in the Spring of 2009. A map of the roads to be treated is attached. Please note that this map shows roads to be decommissioned and roads to be reconstructed. The construction activities will be performed under a separate contract.
