NIST Boulder B1 Wing 6 Seal Above Hallway Doors

The contract entails extending the demising wall of Building 1 Wing 6 vertically up to the structural concrete deck above to close a 2 to 3.5-foot gap and to provide thermal and mechanical isolation between Wing 6 and the Spine corridor. The scope includes sealing both current and abandoned penetrations with fire-rated materials, particularly where the wall separates the Women’s restroom from the Spine corridor. An optional portion of the project may involve reconstructing storage room #4089, installing hollow metal door frames and doors equipped with security hardware, sealing additional penetrations with fire-rated sealant, adding fire sprinkler protection as necessary, installing interior lighting, and placing interior signage that meets NIST standards. The contractor is responsible for supplying all labor, materials, site protection, debris removal, and coordination to ensure the project complies with NIST's campus safety and construction standards. Key deadlines include the submission of a list of individuals attending the site visit by June 30, 2026, with the site visit scheduled for July 2, 2026, at 1:00 PM in front of Building 1.
