North Fork Feather River Stream Gage Installation - CalSIP

The California Department of Water Resources is authorized under Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to install five new stream gage assemblies in the North Fork Feather River watershed pursuant to Streambed Alteration Agreement EPIMS Notification Number PLU-66580-R2, executed with the California Department of Fish and Wildlife. Each gage assembly includes a remotely monitored system housed in a steel enclosure containing a data logger, bubbler unit, battery, and radio equipment, with conduit extending from the enclosure down to the streambed and terminating at the water’s edge. Adjacent to the conduit, a staff gage will be installed in the streambed to provide visual water level measurements. The project’s purpose is to enhance hydrological monitoring capabilities as part of the CalSIP initiative, supporting data collection for water management and environmental planning across the region. All work will be conducted in compliance with state regulations to minimize impacts to aquatic resources.
