The North Point Isabel Park Cap Resilience Project, led by the East Bay Regional Park District in Richmond, California, is a forecast initiative designed to enhance the site's resilience to sea level rise and improve long-term recreational use. The project focuses on stabilizing and raising the elevation of the existing remedial cap using imported soils and increased rock slope protection along the shoreline. Key infrastructure improvements include the installation of a new paved and gravel trail network for universal access, the creation of a continuous vegetated swale to filter stormwater sediments before they enter the San Francisco Bay, and the addition of site furnishings for the off-leash dog area. To protect local wildlife, resource protection fencing will be installed to prevent dogs from accessing shorebirds in adjacent mudflats.
