Full Description

The North Sepulveda Pedestrian Island Tree Removal (Project), which consists of the removal of six street trees, is the subject action for this notice. This Project is part of the North Sepulveda Pedestrian Island project (Pedestrian Island project) which includes the construction of a five-foot-wide concrete sidewalk, a seven-foot-wide irrigated planting area with 26 new stormwater parkway swales, 22 new street trees, and bus stop and American with Disabilities Act (ADA)-accessibility upgrades. The Project subject to this notice is the removal of six trees that was necessary to accommodate the Pedestrian Island project, which is already under construction. The tree removals are subject to a separate discretionary approval by the Board of Public Works (Board). The Board determined the Project was exempt from the California Quality Act (CEQA) and approved the tree removals on August 17, 2026.
