The Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Atlantic plans to award a firm-fixed-price, sole source purchase order to Campbell Scientific, Inc. for the acquisition of three Polar Automatic Weather Stations. These stations are designed to provide critical surface measurements such as atmospheric pressure, air temperature, humidity, and wind speed/direction, specifically tailored for harsh Antarctic deep field environments. The equipment will be integrated into the existing weather monitoring network around McMurdo Station, Antarctica, enhancing the capability to collect accurate environmental data in this remote location. The estimated contract value ranges between $30,000 and $60,000. This procurement will be conducted under the authority of FAR 13.106(b)(1), allowing the government to solicit from a single source without competitive proposals. While this notice serves as an announcement of intent rather than a solicitation, interested firms have a five-day window from the notice publication date to express their interest and capability. The government retains sole discretion to decide whether to open the procurement to competition based on any responses received. Questions and responses should be directed to the designated government contact, Terrie Johnson.
