AI Contract Overview
The Government intends to award a sole-source, firm-fixed-price contract to Mile 533 Marine Ways Inc for latent hull defect remediation. With a total estimated value of 6,527.45 dollars, the project involves repairing a critical hull compromise identified after launch. The scope of work includes dry-dock storage fees, the procurement of specialized long-lead parts, and the execution of repairs necessary to restore a Coast Guard vessel to full operational and mission-capable status. This procurement is conducted under the authority of 10 USC 3204(a)(1) and RFO FAR 6.103-1, as the government has determined that only one responsible source can satisfy the requirement. The work falls under NAICS code 336611 for ship building and repairing. While this is a notice of intent and not a request for competitive quotes, the government will consider responses from interested parties that provide evidence that competition would be advantageous and not cost or time prohibitive.
