Notice of Intent to Increase the Ceiling on N66001-15-C-4032

This is a Notice of Intent to Increase the Ceiling of Contract N66001-15-C-4032 awarded on behalf of the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency Defense Sciences Office (DARPA DSO) on 27 April 2015 for a performance period of fifteen (15) months, with two 12-month option periods. The effort under the contract is in support of the DARPA DSO Program, Simplifying Complexity in Scientific Discovery (SIMPLEX) and involves development and demonstration of an integrated suite of five new tools for extracting network structures from multi-modal, multi-scale calcium imaging and electrophysiological neural data, and for verifying the accuracy of the inferred networks. Under this additional effort for the Option 1 and 2 periods, the contractor shall extend the tools developed under the base period and test them in awake behaving animals. The objective during the options shall be to validate that the neuronal network prediction tools developed can be applied to functional and behavioral outcomes. The NAICS code for this procurement is 541712 Research and Development in the Physical, Engineering, and Life Sciences (except Biotechnology). Due to the nature of Research and Development efforts, DARPA DSO could not have reasonably estimated the results and/or need for additional research under this program. This action includes a ceiling increase of approximately $531,235.
