--Notice of Intent to Sole Source

ERDC Contracting Office intends to solicit on a sole source basis under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 to Actidyn Systemes, Trappes, France. This procurement is being conducted under Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP)  only one responsible sourc e and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. Requirement is for repair of the AC Power Drive on Actidyn Systemes centrifuge. The centrifuge was designed, constructed, and installed by Actidyn Systemes in France. Actidyn Systeme s is the only source capable of performing the required repairs for this centrifuge. The government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities/qualifications to perform the effort in wri ting to the identified point of contact no later than 15:30 hrs Central Time Zone on 13-Aug-2007. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. No RFP will be issued based upon this Notice of Intent.
