The Joint Precision Strike Demonstration (JPSD) Project Office is seeking to continue its research and development efforts to demonstrate a comprehensive Army precision strike capability that operates effectively in all weather and lighting conditions. This involves an end-to-end sensor-to-shooter system aimed at enhancing battlefield effectiveness. The project integrates emerging technologies and concepts through Advanced Concept Technology Demonstrations and other experimental efforts, focusing on sensor and weapon system simulations, hardware integration, and maintaining the operational capabilities of the Integration and Evaluation Center (IEC). The IEC plays a critical role by ensuring connectivity among communication networks, weapon systems, sensors, and command and control systems. To support these efforts, the project office plans to initiate a competitive acquisition process for multiple indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contracts. These contracts will cover the execution of ACTDs, special projects, and additional experiments while ensuring the continued development, upgrading, and maintenance of the IEC. Contractors will be responsible for detailed technical planning and enhancement of the IEC’s capabilities, including hardware integration and connectivity. The new contracts are anticipated to be awarded in the second quarter of fiscal year 2003, with solicitation issuance expected within two months from the original notice date. The contracting activity is managed by the Department of Defense’s W07V Endist office in Vicksburg, Mississippi.
