Noyo Center Marine Ecosystem Resiliency Project

The Noyo Center Marine Ecosystem Resiliency Project will advance resilience efforts at the Marine Field Station in Noyo Harbor, Fort Bragg, by implementing dock repairs as a direct extension of prior authorization. This phase follows earlier work that included studies and conceptual designs to adapt the facility and its infrastructure to sea level rise, as well as the preparation of 60 percent design plans for retrofitting the station and initiating aquaculture programs aimed at restoring the nearshore kelp forest ecosystem. The dock repair component is critical to ensuring safe and sustainable operational access to marine resources and supporting ongoing ecological restoration initiatives. The project is managed by the California State Coastal Conservancy with Amanda Townsel serving as the primary point of contact, and all work will be conducted at the established site in Mendocino County, where the Field Station serves as a hub for marine research and coastal conservation.
