Full Description

The Defense Information Technology Contracting Office (DITCO Europe) awarded modification to Extend the Terms of Contract to Telecom Italia. This modification exercises Option Year 1 and extends the period of performance of contract HC1021-13-P-0006 from 01 May 2014 to 30 April 2015. Synopsis of required service to be provided - Option year 1 - The requirement is to provide Microwave Links Maintenance for U.S. Naval Computer and Telecommunication Station (NCTS) Sigonella, Italy. Option Year was awarded to Telecom Italia for the following reasons: The maintenance will be provided at the following locations: - 1. NCTS Sicily (NAS II, B435) and the Fleet Logistic Support Site at Augusta Bay, Sicily - 2. NCTS Sicily (NAS II, B585) and the Naval Radio Transmitter Facility (NRTF) Niscemi, Sicily Contractor owns relay equipment - Relay equipment. The contractor shall provide relay infrastructure or subcontract the use of current relays. Contractor has obtained licenses, frequencies and permissions to operate from the Italian Government. The contractor shall obtain and keep current all licenses, frequencies, permissions and Government of Italy (GOI) approvals. Telecom Italia was awarded modification to exercise Option Year 1 to extend the period of performance as this contractor was the only source that provided a proposal when requirement was publicized. Informal market research confirmed that prices proposed and evaluated for services are fair and reasonable and in the best interest of the Government.
