THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT ONLY. Solicitations are not available at this time. This notice does not constitute a commitment by the Government. The Federal Bureau of Prisons (FBOP), Field Acquisition Office (FAO) is conducting market research for the United States Penitentiary (USP) Big Sandy located in Inez, Kentucky, South Carolina in compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulation, part 10. The FBOP/FAO intends to make an award for the provision Optometry Services. The contractor will be responsible for providing three (8) hour days for a total of 24 hours per month. A Government solicitation document to provide these services is being developed and a contract may or may not result. The Government contemplates awarding an indefinite-delivery, requirements-type contract with firm-fixed unit prices resulting from the future solicitation. The contract period shall consist of a base period from the effective date of award through 12 months, with four 12 month option periods possible. All information submitted in response to this announcement is voluntary and the Government will not pay for information requested nor will it compensate any respondent for any cost incurred in developing information provided to the Government. All information concerning this requirement will be distributed solely through the General Service Administrations Federal Business Opportunities website at http://www.fedbizopps.gov/. The site provides downloading instructions. Interested parties are responsible for monitoring this site to ensure that they have the most up-to-date information about this acquisition. Faith-Based and Community-Based Organizations can submit offers/quotes equally with other organizations for contracts for which they are eligible. The response date for the market survey is January 3, 2017. All responses to the Market Survey Questionnaire may be e-mailed to Charlie Dailey at cdailey@bop.gov.
