Owens Creek Stream Gauge Vegetation Removal

Vegetation will be manually removed from the bubbler line and staff gauge within the dry channel of Owens Creek using hand tools and a weed eater, ensuring unobstructed access and accurate operation of the stream gauge station. Work will extend ten feet upstream and downstream of the station, clearing vegetation from the levee road down to the current waterline to maintain functional visibility and routine maintenance access. The effort supports reliable water data collection and is essential for the continued performance of the monitoring station. The project directly benefits local farmers, residents, and nearby jurisdictions by preserving accurate hydrologic information critical for water management and flood preparedness in Merced County, California.
