Park Master Plan & Professional Services

The contract involves developing a comprehensive master plan and providing professional services for the transformation of a 52-acre publicly owned property located at 259 Adams Mill Road in Simpsonville, SC. Historically known as Oakland Plantation and later the Hollingsworth YMCA Outdoor Center, the land was acquired by the Upstate Preservation Trust in 2023 and subsequently transferred to Greenville County for park development and preservation efforts. Funding for land acquisition was secured through the SC Conservation Bank and the Greenville County Natural & Historic Land Trust. The project aims to create a detailed vision for the site, including site analysis, park design, and construction documentation, with the ultimate goal of guiding park development in accordance with the master plan and construction drawings. Greenville County Parks, Recreation & Tourism will oversee the project, including public engagement, site analysis, and the preparation of construction documents for future implementation. An additional focus involves the historic preservation and rehabilitation of a 4-acre parcel on the property, which includes a homestead and ten outbuildings, under a Memorandum of Understanding with the Upstate Preservation Trust. The solicitation, identified as RFQ #26012, was posted on August 1, 2025, with a response deadline of August 29, 2025.
