PCEC - Morganti 64 NOI

The California Department of Conservation, Geologic Energy Management Division has approved a permit for Pacific Coast Energy Company LP to perform rework operations on the Morganti 64 well, identified by API number 0408320420, located in the Casmalia Oil Field in Santa Barbara County. The primary objective of the project is to address well integrity issues and restore the well to its original functionality by running and cementing inner casing and conducting an idle well test. The scope of work is limited to the repair, maintenance, and minor alteration of the existing wellbore to protect natural resources and the environment, with no expansion of former use or additional construction of permanent facilities. The project is situated on an existing well pad, ensuring there is no new land disturbance. Temporary equipment, including a workover rig and cementing equipment, will be utilized on-site, and all waste materials will be disposed of at licensed non-hazardous waste facilities. Due to its limited scope and lack of significant environmental impact, the project is exempt from full environmental review under the California Environmental Quality Act, falling under several categorical exemptions for existing facilities and the protection of natural resources. The project is managed by the Department of Conservation with primary coordination through Associate Oil and Gas Engineer Erin Quinn.
