PCWA will permanently cease operation of the Eastside Canal. The canal has been out of service since October 15. 2024. The untreated water supply to the Eastside Canal will remain off permanently and the untreated water accounts of the 23 customers will be closed. The gunite and unlined sections from the southern end of the pipeline to Rachel Lane will remain to serve as local drainage conveyance. Piped crossings at Mandarin Court, Taylor Road, and along the Doupnik Family Leasing LLC property will be placed out of service. Piped canal sections from Rachel Lane to CTO 110+86 will be placed out of service. Piped canal sections from CTO 110+86 to the termination of the pipeline at the northern end of the canal will be placed out of service. In total, 16,976 LF of pipe will be placed out of service.
