PG&E EV Chargers

The California Department of Parks and Recreation, specifically the North Coast Redwoods District, is granting a Right of Entry to PG&E for the installation of electric vehicle charging stations at the Benbow Lake State Recreation Area in Humboldt County. This project is part of the EV Charge Parks Pilot Participation Agreement and aims to provide charging capabilities for park visitors in the Day Use parking area. The scope of work includes the installation of eight charging stations, consisting of four DC fast chargers and four Level 2 chargers, with two of these stations designated as van accessible ADA stalls. To support the increased electrical distribution capacity, PG&E will perform several infrastructure upgrades. These include replacing a 75-foot power pole, excavating and installing approximately 375 feet of underground electrical conduit, and installing a new transformer on a 9-foot by 8-foot poured concrete pad. Additionally, the project involves the installation of two distribution panels and meters, along with six bollards. The project is classified as a forecast under NAICS code 237130 and has been issued a Notice of Exemption under categorical exemptions Class 1, 3, 4, and 5 due to the minor nature of the alterations.
