PG&E EV Chargers

PG&E has been granted a Right of Entry to access Benbow Lake State Recreation Area to install a total of eight electric vehicle charging stations in the Day Use parking area as part of the EV Charge Parks Pilot Participation Agreement. The installation includes four DC fast chargers and four Level 2 chargers, with two of the eight stations designated as van-accessible ADA-compliant stalls to ensure accessibility for all visitors. To support the new charging infrastructure, PG&E will undertake significant electrical upgrades, including replacing an existing 75-foot power pole, excavating and installing approximately 375 feet of underground electrical conduit, pouring a 9-foot by 8-foot 6-inch concrete pad for a new transformer, and installing two distribution panels with meters. Additionally, six bollards will be placed to protect the equipment and ensure site safety. The project is managed by the California Department of Parks and Recreation, with Rosalind Litzky, District Planner, designated as the primary point of contact for coordination and inquiries.
