Pier B On-Dock Rail Support Facility Project

The Pier B On-Dock Rail Support Facility Project, managed by the Port of Long Beach, involves the reconfiguration and expansion of rail infrastructure to support intermodal operations in Los Angeles, California. A central component of the project is the acquisition and condemnation of a partial fee interest in property owned by the Union Pacific Railroad Company, identified as Assessor Parcel Number 7428-027-815, located south of the Dominguez Channel Bridge. The scope of work includes the demolition of the D52-D54 transit shed, the installation of a 36-inch diameter sewer line along W. 12th Street and West Water Street, the relocation of railroad Control Point Foote wye tracks, and the widening of the rail bridge over the Dominguez Channel to accommodate an additional track.
