Prescribed Slash Pile Burning

This subcontract involves the controlled burning of previously constructed hand-piles of slash for prime contractors working on fuel reduction projects for the Shasta Valley Resource Conservation District. The work is performed in mixed conifer forests on slopes up to 45 percent, specifically within the Fort Jones area. The primary objective is to reduce surface fuel loads to less than five tons per acre while ensuring flame lengths are limited to four feet or less. The contractor is responsible for executing these burns under specific prescriptions to deliver the completed burning of all designated slash piles.
