Kitchen Exhaust Cleaning and Maintenance Services
Solicitation # 66600-2627-266
The County of San Mateo is soliciting proposals for Kitchen Exhaust Cleaning and Maintenance Services to support the San Mateo Medical Center (SMMC), including its acute-care hospital, long-term care facilities in San Mateo and Burlingame, and various outpatient clinics throughout the county. The scope of work requires the contractor to provide exhaust and duct degreasing to remove flammable grease, commercial kitchen filter sales and cleaning, fan belt maintenance, and the submission of all required regulatory filings. Additionally, the selected vendor must provide 24/7/365 emergency support for same-day service. The contract is intended for a five-year term, with the award based on the overall best value. Proposers must meet stringent compliance and insurance requirements, including comprehensive general liability, motor vehicle liability, and workers compensation coverage of at least 1 million dollars, as well as 5 million dollars in cyber liability insurance. Because the services are performed within a healthcare environment, contractors must adhere to HIPAA Business Associate requirements for protecting patient health information and comply with the SMMC Corporate Compliance Code of Conduct. Other mandatory obligations include adherence to the San Mateo Living Wage Ordinance, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, and registration with the System for Award Management (SAM). Preference points are available for local, small, and micro businesses. Proposals must be submitted electronically via the eProcurement portal, with a separate PDF for the fee proposal.
