The purpose of this contract is to procure 140000 tree shelters for the protection of planted tree seedlings from wildlife browsing cattle grazing and environmental stressors. Trees will be planted as part of post-fire recovery efforts across several fire scars. Shelters have proven critical for maximizing the survival and vigor of planted seedlings (sheltered seedlings experience up to 5x higher survival) which reduces the need for replanting and expedites the return of planted acres to our nations timber base in alignment with Executive Order 14225 and USDA Secretarial Memo 1078-006.
