The City of Modesto, California, has issued an Informal Invitation for Bids (INF-IFB-00112) for the as-needed supply, delivery, and filling of two 1,000-gallon liquid propane tanks at the Water Corporation Yard. The contract is for an initial term of two years, with the possibility of three one-year extensions, totaling up to five years. Deliveries must occur Monday through Thursday, as no Friday deliveries are permitted. Pricing is based on the Weekly Butane Propane Newsletter (BPN) publication Liquidified Petroleum Gas Fuel Posting plus a supplier-provided differential. Bidders must provide quotes for propane, tank rental fees, trip charges, installation, and maintenance inspections. The City will award the contract based on price, quality, and performance of service, while applying a local vendor preference for businesses with a physical location and license in Modesto that are within 5% of the lowest bid. Requirements include maintaining a City of Modesto business license and providing comprehensive insurance coverage, including $2,000,000 for Commercial General Liability and $1,000,000 for Automobile Liability and Workers Compensation.
