The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Health Care System in Dallas, Texas, is seeking capable providers to deliver primary, preventive, and mental health care services through a Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) serving approximately 1,400 eligible veterans in eight North Texas counties: Wise, Jack, Clay, Archer, Baylor, Young, Montague, and Throckmorton. The VA aims to increase access to local healthcare and improve the efficiency of care management by contracting healthcare providers such as hospitals, medical centers, outpatient clinics, and physician groups. The contractor is responsible for providing continuous primary care, including healthcare clinical providers, facilities, equipment, supplies, short-term prescriptions, and administrative functions, with specialty referrals directed back to the VA Health Care System in Dallas. Each enrolled veteran is estimated to visit the contractor’s primary care facility around four times annually, though this figure is informative and not binding. The contract emphasizes care delivery within the veterans’ local communities, with veteran enrollment outside the specified counties requiring mutual agreement between the involved parties. Interested providers must respond in writing by July 26, 2010, detailing their capability to provide these services, including their business size and type, under NAICS code 621498 with a size standard of $10 million. This announcement is a sources-sought synopsis and does not represent a solicitation or commitment to award, and all communications are to be made in writing to the designated Contracting Officer.
