The Chief Financial Officer’s Council (CFOC) has issued a Request for Information (RFI) seeking insights into private sector solutions that could help prevent improper payments within Federal government benefit and entitlement programs. This RFI is a preliminary step aimed at gathering information and aiding planning efforts rather than a formal solicitation for proposals. Responses to this RFI will not affect an entity’s eligibility to participate in any subsequent Request for Proposal (RFP) that might be issued. Participants are asked to submit electronic responses by 5:00 p.m. EDT on May 13, 2005, to the designated contact, James C. Thieme at the U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM), with clear identification of any sensitive or protected information. Additionally, an Industry Day II session is scheduled for April 26, 2005, to further discuss the RFI’s objectives, with an RSVP deadline of April 22, 2005. Attendees will receive details about the location and directions upon confirmation. The effort relates to NAICS code 541219 and is managed in part by Jodie L. Paustian, a Procurement Analyst reachable at the IRS. Questions regarding the RFI can be submitted via email to [email hidden]. The overall initiative reflects CFOC’s effort to explore innovative approaches from the private sector that could strengthen the integrity of federal financial programs by reducing improper payments.
