Notice of intent to negotiate a sole source contract withSea Technology Services (STS) for the National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS). Purpose of proposed contract is to collect meteorological and oceanographic data aboard an annual cruise to a study area located in the vicinity of the Antarctic Peninsula. Both shipboard and shore-based studies are conducted to monitor the state of the pelagic ecosystem. Contractor will set up, test and maintain two complete data collection systems. Proposed contractor only known source that possesses skills and services in operating instruments for measuring seawater properties and for making continuous meteorological observations. NMFS also requires quality control, processing and interpretation of data and the production of detailed descriptive reports. Services will be required during a two-month cruise. This is a simplified acquisition with an estimated value of less than $100,000.
