The Department of Defense intends to award a sole source, firm-fixed price contract to Harris Corporation for the evaluation, testing, and repair of equipment used in the HIMARS System at Letterkenny Army Depot. This procurement is being handled as a sole source because the government lacks the necessary technical data packages and documentation required to seek services from alternative providers. Interested parties have a seven day window from the publication date of November 9, 2011, to submit proposals or identify their capabilities to respond to the requirement. While the government will consider these submissions to determine if a competitive procurement is warranted, the final decision to proceed with a sole source award remains at the sole discretion of the government.
