AI Contract Overview
The contract pertains to the procurement of a refrigerator-freezer unit identified by NSN 4110-01-313-2761, with a quantity of one and a delivery timeline of 30 days after the date of order. It incorporates strict compliance with the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) master list of technical and quality requirements relevant at the solicitation or award date. Key stipulations include adherence to removal protocols for government identification from non-accepted supplies, and the prohibition of mercury or mercury-containing compounds in hardware or supplies, except for specific functional applications such as batteries or sensors. The use of ozone-depleting substances is restricted; only EPA-approved refrigerant substitutes, such as R134A or R404A, are permitted as the only shipboard approved refrigerants for food service equipment, explicitly excluding flammable refrigerants like R290A for naval vessel applications. Additional requirements highlight the potential applicability of covered defense information protections and the necessity for compliance with environmental and safety standards outlined by NAVSEA. The solicitation, issued by the Department of Defense’s Subsistence Food Service Equipment Supply Chain, is open for responses until May 21, 2026, with Madelyn Kane as the primary point of contact. The contract ensures that all packaging, technical, and environmental standards are fully integrated to meet federal procurement and operational demands.
