Full Description
This is a solicitation for repair services for a Cummins Diesel Generator, Model DQGAF, in support of Norfolk Naval Shipyard (NNSY), Portsmouth, VA. This requirement will be procured on a sole-source basis from Cummins Inc., the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM). Third-party vendors will not be considered for award.
The generator must be serviced by the OEM or, as applicable, OEM-authorized personnel to ensure continued safe, reliable, and proper operation. Performance of these services by an unauthorized facility may increase the risk of equipment malfunction, unsafe operating conditions, or premature failure.
The inoperability of this diesel generator directly impacts the undocking evolution and jeopardizes support for critical nuclear loads that require generator-backed power. NNSY does not have a spare generator available as a substitute. Delays in completing the required repairs may result in schedule impacts to the Government estimated at up to $25,000 per day.
The specialized nature of the required repairs necessitates OEM-certified technicians with access to proprietary diagnostic software, technical data, and repair procedures that are not available to unauthorized third-party service providers. Cummins Inc. is the OEM for the subject generator.
This solicitation is anticipated to result in a Firm-Fixed-Price (FFP) award to Cummins Inc. on a sole-source basis.
Please refer to the attached solicitation and supporting documentation for the complete description of the requirement, and applicable specifications.
