The US Army Corps of Engineers Memphis District plans to award a sole source firm fixed price contract to Schottel, Inc. for the procurement of repair parts specifically for Schottel Z-drive propulsion assemblies used on the dredge tenders Lusk and Ward. Due to the unique nature of these assemblies and the fact that Schottel, Inc. is the original manufacturer, the contract is awarded under the authority that permits sole source procurement when only one responsible source exists. The estimated contract value is under $100,000, and no formal solicitation or request for quotes is being issued. However, any other firms that believe they can meet the requirements may respond in writing within 48 hours of the announcement for potential consideration. This procurement is classified under NAICS code 423860 and is managed by the Department of Defense, specifically the W07V Endist Memphis office located in Memphis, Tennessee. The sole source determination is based on the absence of any other known manufacturers capable of supplying the necessary repair parts. The government retains full discretion in deciding whether to compete the requirement based on any received responses. Interested parties or those seeking further information are instructed to contact Celestine Evans via the provided email address.
