This contract involves the replacement of Air Handling Unit #2 at YORK-1794, as the existing unit has reached the end of its useful life expectancy. Installed in 1999, the current system suffers from deteriorated lagging and aging components, including valves and a motor that is over ten years old. While the variable speed drive was updated recently, a full replacement is necessary to ensure operational reliability. The project is intended to be funded through money provided by BUMED to CNIC for facility sustainment, with a mission need date set for January 2027. The procurement is being managed by Navfac Mid-Atlantic under the Department of the Navy. This requirement is categorized as an 8(a) Set-Aside, meaning it is reserved for small businesses participating in the SBA 8(a) program. The project was forecasted in July 2026 to meet the upcoming facility requirements and mission timelines.
