The issue date for the following solicitation is January 26, 2009. The U. S. Postal Service is soliciting proposals from prequalified firms to replace the UPS system at the IT/ASC (data center) located at 2700 Campus Drive in San Mateo CA. The work will be phased so that the data center has a minimum amount of downtime. The project is to be completed in 210 days after notice to proceed. Estimated range is $3,500,000-$4,000,000. Please note requirements for electrical subcontractor as stated in solicitation documents: - Company specializing in performing work of the complexity outlined in the project contract documents in an active data center environment within the last five years. Company to include in bid documents a reference list to previous installations of UPS systems 1000KVA or greater size within an active data center within the last five years. Company shall also show by references their experience installing wet cell battery strings similar to those included in these project documents. Award is contingent upon project approval. This is an owned facility. The proposal must contain the offerors overhead, profit, bonds, insurance, and all other contingencies. No allowance for such items will be made after contract award. The minority subcontracting goal for this contract will be 10%. Project drawings may be viewed at the Barker Blue Digital Imaging ePlanroom at http://www.barkerbluedigital.com.
