Dane County, Wisconsin, is seeking information from organizations interested in developing innovative waste diversion and resource recovery solutions at the Sustainable Business Park, which will be situated alongside the upcoming Dane County landfill in Madison. The project involves the construction of a new landfill and support facilities starting in 2026, with operations expected to begin by 2027 or 2028. The county aims to identify technologies and processes that can significantly reduce waste sent to landfills while producing marketable outputs such as energy or raw materials. This RFI is part of a broader effort, with four RFIs issued concurrently, to explore various approaches to waste management, reuse, research, and recycling, although it is not a solicitation for bids or a commitment to contract. Responses to this RFI will help the county evaluate the feasibility of different ideas and identify promising partners for future procurement processes. The contract size is estimated to range between five million and twenty million dollars, reflecting the scale of potential projects. The primary point of contact for inquiries is Wyeth Augustine-Marceil, reachable via email or phone. The deadline for responses is March 21, 2025, and interested parties can find additional information through the county’s procurement portal. This initiative underscores Dane County’s commitment to advancing the circular economy by transforming waste into valuable resources through innovative partnerships and technologies.
