The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) has issued Request for Information (RFI) 10.30.2026-POWER-YMK to identify innovative technologies and industry best practices to modernize and enhance the resilience of its power system, water system, information technology services, and customer service operations. This RFI serves as a market survey to gather high-level cost estimates for budgeting and to evaluate the feasibility of future procurement methods, including Requests for Proposals, Qualifications, Invitations for Bid, single-source proposals, or cooperative piggyback agreements. Key areas of interest include cybersecurity and cyber resilience, specifically regarding Power System Operational Technology security controls, as well as worker safety technologies such as smart wearables and arc-flash mitigation. Interested parties must submit their responses by April 1, 2027, via email to [email hidden]. Submissions are divided into two parts: a technology solution proposal limited to fifteen pages and a one-page summary of current active government contracts for potential piggybacking. The technology proposal must detail the company overview, technology readiness levels, strategic relevance, operational feasibility, and evidence of performance. Respondents must also indicate their willingness to participate in bundled pilot studies and acknowledge that LADWP may incorporate submitted ideas into future procurements without liability. All customer-facing experiences must align with WCAG accessibility standards, and any proprietary information must be submitted with a good faith belief that it is exempt from the California Public Records Act.
