The 56th Contracting Squadron at Luke Air Force Base, Arizona, has issued a Request for Information (RFI) under solicitation number F2U2006057A001 to conduct market research for the procurement of an OMAX AbrasiveJet (55100) water jet system to replace aging equipment and enhance production capabilities in support of F-35 workload demands. This RFI is strictly for planning purposes and does not constitute a solicitation for offers or a commitment to award a contract; responses will help the government determine vendor availability, establish realistic timelines, and assess whether a set-aside for small businesses is appropriate. Interested vendors must submit electronic responses via email to A1C Sophia Mojica no later than June 12, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. MDT, and are required to provide their company name, address, phone number, CAGE code, business size classification, and any applicable small business certifications such as 8(a), Service-Disabled Veteran Owned, or HubZone. Vendors must also indicate the estimated number of calendar days needed to respond to a future Request for Quotation and are encouraged to offer feedback on how to refine the requirement. The government will publicly post questions and answers from respondents to promote transparency, with respondent identities confidential. The anticipated system includes a 55100 AbrasiveJet with a Water Recycling System featuring a 5-ton chiller, 2 CT capacity, and a single pump; a Collision Sensing Terrain Follower; a Tilt-A-Jet cutting head; a Variable Speed Solids Removal System with a single hopper; and a 600lb bulk media delivery system with unlimited software seats and lifetime updates. The equipment must be marked with an IUID tag compliant with MIL-STD-130x, and the 30 HP direct drive pump must meet federal green energy standards. The vendor must provide a two-year standard warranty, a complimentary three-day on-site technical installation, and a five-day training course at no additional cost. The North American Industry Classification System code is 333515, and no set-aside is currently planned. All responses are voluntary and will not result in any financial obligation to the government.
