RFP R27-001 Insurance Brokerage Services

Nassau Community College has issued Request for Proposals R27-001 to secure a qualified firm for comprehensive insurance brokerage, insurance program management, risk assessment, and claims management services. The successful contractor will serve as the primary insurance advisor and advocate, responsible for evaluating coverage needs, identifying exposures, conducting market analysis, and negotiating premiums and terms with insurers. Recommended insurers must maintain an A.M. Best Financial Strength Rating of A- or better. The anticipated contract term is five years with no renewal options, though the agreement may be extended for up to four additional years in one-year increments. Proposals are due by October 6, 2026, at 12:00 PM and will be evaluated using a point-based system considering qualifications, methodology, cost, and M/WBE participation. To be deemed responsive, proposers must meet minimum pass/fail qualifications, including at least ten years of experience serving public entities or higher education institutions, demonstrated program management expertise, access to specialty and excess insurance markets, and the absence of material conflicts of interest. Submissions must include a technical proposal and a cost proposal, with the college utilizing NET30 payment terms. All services must be performed under a purchase order, and the contractor must comply with various legal standards, including the Nassau County Living Wage Law and equal employment opportunity regulations.
