AI Contract Overview
The 410th Contracting Support Brigade, Regional Contracting Office Miami, is seeking to award a sole-source purchase order to SAFE Boats International for the repair of a 33-foot hull under the Caribbean Security Basin Initiative, with performance to be conducted at the SVG Coast Guard Calliaqua Base in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. This non-competitive action is justified under FAR 5.102(a)(6) because SAFE Boats International holds the exclusive U.S. patents for foam-stabilized watercraft technology—specifically U.S. Patents 5,282,436; 5,647,297; and 5,870,965—which prevent any other manufacturer from producing or repairing vessels with identical structural characteristics. The repair work involves replacing two new Performance Wings Below Collars (Part No: 128506-01), welding, air testing for structural integrity, and full restoration of the vessel to original operational specifications using only new, manufacturer-warranted components, with no remanufactured or gray market parts permitted. While the solicitation is not a competitive request, interested parties may submit written documentation of their repair qualifications, including proof of active SAM registration, to Sandra Jeanlouis via email by 09:00 AM EST on May 20, 2026, though the government retains sole discretion to proceed with the sole-source award. The NAICS code 336611 applies, no set-aside is used, and no formal evaluation factors, pricing data, or contract value are disclosed. The work must comply with SAFE Boats International’s proprietary designs and warranty requirements, and all deliverables will be inspected and accepted at the destination site. Technical oversight is maintained by EM1 Christopher Brown Jr. of US SOUTHCOM, and the contractor must coordinate logistics and on-site execution without defined FOB terms or detailed packaging, preservation, or marking standards beyond the mandatory brand-name part designation.
