Full Title: SCE Batch 1, TD1849950-2031266E, 903884137-1801964E, TD2192459-1721534E, and TD2131601-1741122E (Western Joshua Tree Conservation Act (WJTCA) Incidental Take Permit (ITP) No. 1927-2025-025-06)) The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) has issued a WJTCA ITP (No. 1927-2025-025-06), pursuant to pursuant to Section 1927.3 of the Fish and Game Code to Southern California Edison. The Project activities involve replacing deteriorated wooden poles and/or relieving guy cable tension or compromised wooden utility poles and support features. Work will occur within a 10-foot radius of four pole/structure locations and include three temporary access and laydown areas that will impact and encroach upon 29 western Joshua Tree (Yucca Brevifolia). The Project will result in impacts to approximately 0.12 acres of western Joshua Tree habitat including temporary impacts to approximately 0.09 acres; the Project will permanently remove approximately 0.03 acres of western Joshua tree habitat. The project is expected to result in incidental take of western Joshua tree, which is protected species under the Western Joshua Tree Conservation Act and the California Endangered Species Act (CESA). The ITP referenced above as issued by CDFW authorizes incidental take of species listed under CESA that may occur as a result of Project implementation.
