The US Army Medical Research Acquisition Activity intends to award a sole source contract to Kootamiara, LLC for scientific support services related to Tafenoquine, a drug involved in efforts to address P. vivax malaria. Kootamiara, located in Washington DC, is identified as the only known entity in the United States with documented historical technical knowledge of Tafenoquine, making it uniquely qualified to fulfill the government's requirements. Due to this exclusivity, the procurement will proceed under other than full and open competition procedures as outlined by the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302, allowing this sole source award without a competitive bidding process.
